Tooth & Nail
Although it’s actually their second full-length cd, this is the cd that really launched the band, sending many future fans scurrying back to add Breaking the Chains to their collections. Alone Again became one of the premier ballads of the decade and George became a legend. In short, Dokken was the shit and everybody knew it. Their songs were catchy enough to interest the glam fans, and the guitar work was appreciated by even the most devoted Yngwie fans. Dokken crossed a lot of boundaries and became a band that most metal fans could agree on and Tooth and Nail became a staple of every metal collection. Songs like Into the Fire and Don’t Close Your Eyes are still among my favorites. --
