Due to Scholz’s legendary perfectionism in the studio, Boston albums are few and far between, so these are the first new Boston songs since 1997. And they don’t disappoint. It’s not going to be for everyone though. It’s not really heavy, but the singer has a great voice and Scholz has a great guitar distortion sound. It’s all very clean and tight with big hooks and catchy melodies. The songs have a real pop sensibility with crisp production and heavy guitars. So if you like bands like Night Ranger and Journey, then you might want to give Boston a chance. I know I like it. --
